The Resource Mobilization is a theory used on the study of social movements. It describes social movements as rational behaviors (the performer knows the costs and benefits of it), rather than an impulsive one, and it argues that the success of a social movement depends only on the effective mobilization of materials and non-material resources. Material resources refer to manpower, technology, means of communication, mass media, organization, and money. Non-material resources are the skills of the members, the cohesion between the members, legitimacy, loyalty, social relationships, networks, personal connections, public attention, authority, moral commitment, and solidarity.
