A contractor purchases 7 dozen pairs of padded work gloves for ​$96.60

He incorrectly calculates the unit price as ​$13.80 per pair for the expense report. What is the correct unit​ price? What is the​ error?

If I'm not mistaken, The unit price of the gloves per pair is 1.15$.

He mentions he bought 7 dozen of gloves, meaning 7(12) since there are 12 in each dozen.

so his mistake was dividing by each dozen into the final amount versus each pair so it would look like...

7(12)x =96.60

84x = 96.60 divide both sides by 84....

x = 1.15$ per pair of gloves.
