Answer: everyday events of family life.

Conflicts that arise between parents and adolescents are rarely caused by deeply complex, destructive social behaviour, such as drug addiction or criminal activity. More often than not, they are the result of everyday events. The reason why everyday life can be so difficult for parents and teenagers alike is that teenagers undergo many changes in opinion, personality and character in a very short amount of time, which can be difficult to reconcile with their previous selves and the image their parents have of them.
