Delinquent act is an act committed by a juvenile, that if committed by an adult would be a petty offense or a criminal offense. A status offense is an action that is prohibited only to a certain class of people, like minors; for example running away from home. Delinquent child refers to the child of certain age who has violated a criminal law.
