Two angles are complementary. The Sum of the first angle plus twice the second angle is 148 Degrees. Find the Measures of the angles.

Answer: 32° & 58°

Explanation:

"Two angles are Complementary" means: x + y = 90

"Sum of the 1st angle plus twice the 2nd angle is 148" means: x + 2y = 148

Solve the system using any method (I am using elimination)

x + y = 90 → -1(x + y = 90) → -x - y = -90

x + 2y = 148 → 1(x + 2y = 148) → x + 2y= 148

y = 58

x + y = 90

x + 58 = 90

-58 -58

x = 32
