If two instruments are in tune, what should their beat frequency be?

An A ( that is in tune) is 140. In Orchestras, quartets, Symphonies and philharmonics tune to A-140 before starting their selections of music.

the beat frequency represents the difference in the two frequency. if they are the same then a beat doesn't exist.

also you could have picked physics since this is a physics based question
