Ann is a 17 year old female who is sexually active and proud of it. When asked about how she protects herself against sexually transmitted diseases, she says that she always takes a hot shower immediately following interxourse and this seems to protect her well. How would you accurately explain the way STD's are passed from one person to another?

To avoid catching a STD Ann and her partner should consider using a condom. With a condom their bodily fluids will not be transferred which can decrease the chances of catching a STD (S-sexually T-transited D-disease).

Ann needs to be using condoms and avoiding oral sex. STDS are transmitted through body fluids.
