You already have your topic, 'suicide awareness.' You might develop your thesis by stating something like, "Suicide awareness is important because, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States."

Then in your paper you can develop the thesis by talking about how awareness can help PREVENT suicide. You can also talk about some statistics from the NIMH website which show suicide trends and what are some of the reasons that people choose to commit suicide.
