The formla of a midpoint of AB:

M\left((x_A+x_B)/(2),\ (y_A+y_B)/(2)\right)

We have A(-3, -7) and B(-1, 1). Substitute:

x_M=(-3+(-1))/(2)=(-4)/(2)=-2\\\\y_M=(-7+1)/(2)=(-6)/(2)=-3

Answer: M(-2, -3)
