Strikes happened because of cut wages, both closed down at some time, and to have the government involved to obtain order, both were unsuccessful

Both The Homestead and Pullman strikes were similar because of deep issues such as the very bad conditions of the workers in both places. The feeling was that they worked for too long hours in poor conditions. It is trying to pressure the companies to better these conditions and wages that both strikes took place.
