Brenda bought $36 in school supplies . with a 6% sales tax ,what was her total ?

The equation will be 36+(36*0.06)=x where x is the total and 36*0.06 is the addition of sales tax (% to decimal is /100)

36*0.06=2.16

36+2.16=38.16

$38.16 is the total cost.
