Burrhus Frederic Skinner (1904-90) was considered the behavioral and learning scientist. For him, the education should be planned step by step in order to achieve the desired results in the student's "shaping". He developed the idea about operant conditioning, free will and teaching machine. Skinner's ideas attracted many followers who embraced the idea of programmed instruction as the first truly efficient method of learning.
