If the boil ruptures under the skin, inflammation and infection spread quickly and new lumps form nearby. HS is a progressive disease so it is bound to get worse over time. It can be unpredictable. It is different for every person so it can be hard to predict.

Answer: A lot of pain, swelling and discomfort with redness.

Explanation: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a painful, long-term skin condition that causes abscesses and scarring on the skin. The exact cause of hidradenitis suppurativa is unknown, but it occurs near hair follicles where there are sweat glands, usually around the groin, buttocks, breasts and armpits.
