Length of strip cut off =

`(19)/(4)`

So, the new length of the strip will be=

`(41)/(2)- (19)/(4)`

=
`(82-19)/(4)=(63)/(4)`

Hence, the new length of the flooring strip will be
`(63)/(4)` inches and in mixed fraction it will be
`15(3)/(4)` inches.
