Find the slope of a line that contains the two points (-2,8) and (1,2).

The formula of a slope:


m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We have the points (-2, 8) and (1, 2). Substitute:


m=(2-8)/(1-(-2))=(-6)/(3)=-2

Answer: the slope = -2.
