A rectangular backyard garden has a width that is 4 feet wider that its length

let the Length of the garden is 'l'

Width is 4 more than the length so width is l + 4

Area of rectangle = length * width

= l * (l+4)

=
l^2 +4l

Degree is the exponent so the area of the garden has a degree of 2

Answer is 2
