I don’t know what the question is asking but I’m assuming you’re looking for c, the hypotenuse, then you would do a2 + b2 = c2. And you plug in the information given so it would be 12squared + 5squared = Csquared.

(12x12) + (5x5) = c2

144 + 25 = c

169 = c

Then you would find the square root of 169

C = 13
