What did Texas v. Johnson demonstrate about the right to disagreeable speech?

Texas v. Johnson demonstrates that people have symbolic speech. Also Johnson (the guy who burned the American flag in protest) is aloud to burn the flag, although it is not a popular action he can do it because it is his right under the first amendment of freedom of speech
