What were the areas targeted for reform in the progressive era?

The main goals of the Progressive Era were to eliminate the problems relating to urbanization, industrialization and governmental corruption. They thought that by eliminating corrupt officers a direct democracy (people decides directly by themselves instead of doing it through representatives) might be achieved.
