The West Indies imported much of their food and livestock from New England, since most of their land was dedicated to growing sugar. Some of the products New England exported to the West Indies include: Salted beef and pork, shad, pickled codfish, cheese, butter, beans, potatoes, corn, onions, and apples. Livestock included animals such as geese, turkeys, hogs, and sheep.
