This is a story written by O. Henry. It was called “One thousand Dollars”, and like in many of his narrative, is sentimental and ironic at the same time. This one in particular talks about how Bobby Gillian was informed that his rich uncle had died and had bequeathed him “one thousand dollars”

Tolman is the lawyer in charge of informing Gillian about his late uncle´s will. He was a very serious man who was respectful of the law and that will fulfil all of his late client´s decisions.

“You heard the reading of your uncle's will after he died," continued the lawyer Tolman. "I do not know if you paid much attention to its details. I must remind you of one. You are required to provide us with a report of how you used this $1,000 as soon as you have spent it. I trust that you will obey the wishes of your late uncle."
