PLEASE HELP ASAP

A recipe includes 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 3/4 cups of flour. Susan doubled the recipe by changing the measurements to 2 1/2 cups of sugar and 3 3/4 cups of flour

(a) Are Susan’s measurements correct?(worth 1 point for correct response) If not, double the original measurements correctly and simplify the answers. (worth 1 point for each correct simplified response)

(b) Describe the process of converting a mixed number into an equivalent improper fraction. (worth 1 point for correct process)

Answer:

Susan's measurements areincorrect. the measurements for sugar is 1 cup and for flour its 3 1/2 cups.

Explanation:

(i dont know how to best answer section b but ill do my best)

A) 1/2 cups of sugar X2= 1 cup of sugar

1 3/4 cups of sugar X2= 3 1/2 cups of flour

B) When you have a mixed number like 1 and 3/4 cups like the example above, you are able to convert it into an improper fraction by multiplying the denominator withthe whole number and then addingthe remaining from the numerator. So with 1 3/4 cups:

4X1= 4+3= 7

So now you get 7/4 cups. to turn it back into a mixed number, just reverse the process.
