Are people who stay around other people who commit crimes just as guilty as those who commit crimes?

no not nesseceraly they are just a little guilty as they could be that persons certian friend

Yes...Guilty by association. I couldnt sit by and watch another hurt or kill an innocent person. I think if you are knowledgeable to someones illegal activity and choose to be around then you have chosen the consequence of that action.
