For this case we have to:

h_ {1}:Let the variable representing the initial height of the oak

h_ {2}:Let the variable representing the final height of the oak

According to the data we have to:

h_ {1} = 34 \ ft

If the oak tree grew 18 feet to reach the final height we have to:

h_ {2} = h_ {1} +18\\h_ {2} = 34 + 18\\h_ {2} = 52

Thus, the final height of the oak tree is 52 feet.

We can add the second amount to the initial one because we talk about the growth of the oak tree itself.

Answer:

h_ {2} = 52
