  • mass of pentane = 15g
  • molar mass of pentane = 72.15
  • mass of solvent (hexane) = 245.0 g = 0.245 Kg

Solution

  • Molality = (given mass ÷ molar mass ) ÷ 1 Kg of solvent
  • Molality = ( 15 ÷ 72.15 ) ÷ 0.245 Kg
  • Molality = 0.84
