1) In the years prior to the Declaration, Britain unfairly taxed the colonies to pay for the French and Indian war, and many colonists protested. When war was declared, Thomas Paine wrote a pamphlet entitled "common sense" that told people that it was only common sense to want freedom from Britain. More colonists fought hard for a change and eventually won the war.
2) The battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the whole revolution. It was the first battle the colonists had won.
3) The Articles gave too much power to the individual states and caused many money problems. It also prevented the colonies from having a strong central government.
4) The bill of rights gave people their freedoms and got the constitution ratified.
