Which of the following statements correctly uses the distributive property?

-3(12 + 5) = -3(12) - (-3)(5)
7(9 - 8) = 7(9) - 8
-2(15 - 3) = -2(15) + (-2)(3)
9(-7 + 6) = 9(-7) + 9(6)

The correct answer would be the last one. You want to take the number on the outside of the parentheses and multiply it by the numbers inside of the parentheses. So it would be 9x-7 and 9x6, then you would add the sums together. You do the same thing on the other side of the equal sign; if the two sums match each other then that is your right answer.
