The Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar (who ruled between 605 and 562 BC) built the Hanging Gardens of Babylon around the city because his wife, Queen Amytis, who was from Media, missed the natural scenery of her country. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
