standard form for a linear equation means

- all coefficients must be integers

- only the constant on the right-hand-side

- "x" must not have a negative coefficient

\bf y-5=\cfrac{3}{2}(x+4)\implies y-5=\cfrac{3}{2}x+6\implies y=\cfrac{3x}{2}+11\\\\\\\stackrel{\textit{multiplying both sides by }\stackrel{LCD}{2}}{2y=3x+22}\implies -3x+2y=22\implies \boxed{3x-2y=-22}
