f(x) = x^2 -3x +2

Replace x with 2:

f(2) = x^2 -3(2) +2

f(2) = 4-6 +2

f(2) = 0

g(x) = 4x-5

replace x with -1

g(-1) = 4(-1) -5

g(-1) = -4-5

g(-1) = -9

Now subtract

f(2) - g(-1) = 0 - (-9) = 0+9 = 9

The answer is 9.
