The theory of "continental drift" which proposed that continents were moving or drifting across the Earth sometimes crashing into each other.
There is also the archaeological evidence which shows how the same species of animals are found on two different continents (usually far apart), such as the plant Glossopteris, that has been found on South America, Africa, India, Antarctica, and Australia.
