john Chupco was a Seminole Indian Chief (1821-1881). He was a prominent figure during the Seminole War from 1855 to 1958. He did not accept the treaty of Alliance between the Confederate States of America and the Seminole Nation of 1861. When he moved to Kansas he became part of the government military, reaching the grade os Seargent in the First Regiment.
