Both, Juliane Koepcke and Bill Garleb, are survivors of catastrophic events. Juliane koepcke was only 17 years old, when a lightning struck caused the airplane where she was flying to crash. She survived with only a few scratches and a broken collarbone, when the airplane crashed in the Peruvian jungle. Bill Garleb survived the Bataan Death March in the Philippines, he found himself in the jungle as well, and he reported to have increasingly sharp senses resulted from the traumatic event.
