Explain the process of evolution through isolation the results and speciation

The speciation, or a divergence of the population into a separate species, can take two forms:
1. Allopatric- where a physical barrier separates populations (darwin’s finches).
2. Sympatric- where the population sharing the geographic location is forced by an environmental factors to diverge.
Once they have diverged, either prezygotic or postzygotic barriers can prevent interbreeding between the two species.
Hope this helps!
