You multiply both sides by the GCD GREATEST COMMON DENOMINATOR

2 + 3/4x = 5/6

Multiply by 12 since 4 and 6 divide evenly into 24

12(2 + 3/4x) = 12(5/6)

24 + 9x = 10

Collect like terms

9x = -14

X = -14/9
