You could either add 1/2 + 3/9 to see if you get 4/9

Or you can subtract 1/2 from 4/9 to see if youll get 3/9

However when you add 1/2 + 3/9 you get 5/6 and 5/6 does not equal 4/9

How can you check to see if this equation is correct? 1/2 + 3/9 = 4/9
