Pecan trees yield 45 pounds per acre and hazelnut trees yield 25 pounds per acre. Suppose Jenna's farm has p acres of pecan trees, h acres of hazelnut trees, and yields 900 pounds of nuts. What is the equation that represents this scenario? 70n = 900 25p + 45h = 900 a + m = 900 45p + 25h = 900

Let P = Pecan trees and H = Hazelnut trees.

Multiply the number of acres of each by the number of pounds of each acre:

45 pounds per acre of Pecan trees would be 45p

25 pounds per acre of hazelnut trees would be 25h

You would then add those together to get the total pounds of nuts:

45p + 25h = 900
