The ratio is 2:3 puppies to adult dogs, which means for every 2 puppies, there is 3 adult dogs.

Add the ratio together: 2+3 = 5

Divide total dogs by that total: 50 dogs / 5 = 10

Now multiply each number of the ratio by that to find the total number of each:

2 puppies x 10 = 20 total puppies.

3 adults x 10 = 30 total adult dogs.
