The country could barrow in the future was Alexander Hamilton's main reason for insisting that all the nation's debt must be paid in full. He believed it will allow the state to barrow in future at affordable interest rates and would also be a stimulant to the economy. He also argued if loan is not paid, it would cause people to loose faith in the credit and integrity of the struggling government and destroy the new constitution and finally it would be difficult for the revolution and nation to survive.
