The experiment that led to changes to the original cell theory ARE THE EXPERIMENTS THAT SHOWED THAT ALL CELLS ARE SIMILAR IN HOW THEY METABOLIZE AND IN THEIR COMPOSITION.
Scientists always update existing theories to reflect new emerging scientific facts and this was what happened to the cell theory. Some changes were made to the theory when it was discovered that all cells are identical when it comes to composition and metabolism.
