The slope formula:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We have:

(2,\ -5)\to x_1=2,\ y_1=-5\\(-1,\ -1)\to x_2=-1,\ y_2=-1

Substitute:

m=(-1-(-5))/(-1-2)=(-1+5)/(-3)=(4)/(-3)=-(4)/(3)

Answer: D.
