PLEASE SHOW WORK Joanne removed 8 1/3 yards of material from a roll that contained 24 1/2 yards. how much material was left on the roll

First, you need to have a similar denominator! so the closest would be 1/6th

put 8 and 24 back into the percentages to get 24/3 and 48/2

then multiply everything by 2 or 3 to make it sixths getting 48/6 and 144/6

these two simplify to 8 and 24 ( Look it didnt change!)

so to answer 1/3 of it is left or 16
