If you break it down the 3 it is in the thousands place. You take all the numbers after 3 and make them 0’s and you’ll find that the value of 3 is 3,000.

Well let's remember the place values in order to solve this

Hundred thousands, Ten thousands, Thousands, Hundreds, Tens, Ones

(Notice how the 3 is in the thousands place)

Now lets separate these place values from the number shown in the question

700,000 + 40,000 + 3,000 + 100 + 80 + 2

As we see up there ^. The thousands place shows the number 3,000

3,000 is your answer
