Puritan Church believed in the right way of living, which was the way of God. Due to the economic crisis, people turned more and more to religion for guidence in their life. In the other hand, whitches were assumed to be on the devils side, and puritans were those who judged if the girl or a woman was devoted to the devil. It was a time of great confusion and usually middle and upper class women were convicted.
