Historiography suggests that history has been, is, and will always be open to interpretation. It is nothing surprising, considering the number of different ethnicities, cultures, religions, politics, races, and at the end of the day personalities, which all influence the way that certain group of people looks at things and that there are lots of different points of views and interpretations because of these differences.
