A constitutional monarchy like England is where the Monarchy act as figureheads essentially. They still have elections and the elected parliament run the government. An absolute monarchy however is very different. The 1978 constitution affirmed the role of the King of Spain as the personification and embodiment of the Spanish State and a symbol of Spain's enduring unity and permanence.
