Reptiles, such as snakes, become extremely inactive during the winter months. They become active again, hunting for food, when the weather becomes warmer. Which of these would best explain why this is true?

It's dangerous for them to be out during the cold seasons because they're cold blooded. They don't create their own body heat and rely on the sun and anything else warm to survive, so they spend a lot of time catching whatever sun they can until it gets warmer again.
