why would a fort at hormuz help the Portuguese to stop trade between the Arabian peninsula and india?

Because it is just like hot THE WALL trump wants to build stop illegal drugs from entering the states. Lol jk it stops the main rout from being access able so they cant use it anymore!! Hope it helps!

The fort helped the Portuguese Colonial Empire to monitor the trade and between the Arabian Peninsula and India, as situated in the Persian Gulf. The fort is also known as Portuguese castle served as a warehouse for guns and artilleries( cannons).
