What is the common denominator of 3/10 - 11/15?

the multiples of 15 are 15, 30, 45... etc. We can see that 30 is divisible by 10, so this will be the lowest common denominator.

We could also use, 60, 90, 120... but 30 is the smallest



(3 times 3)/(10 times 3) =
(9)/(30)



(9-11)/(30) =
-(2)/(30)

The common denominator would be 30 because 15*2= 30 and 10*3=30
