The declaration of independence played a significant role in shaping the history of the U.S. It announced the independence of the country from foreign rule, particularly that of the British Empire. Various independent colonies merged into one separate entity, which would later on become the United States. It has the complaints of the colonists against the British king. The declaration of independence also has arguments the colonists used to explain why they wanted to be free of British rule.

and last is to set goals or Ideals for our nation.
